The Co-op has had a number of other pension arrangements, as well as Pace. This section contains information and factsheets for each of the three Former Schemes which merged to form Pace in 2006 and the Schemes which closed in 2012:
Pace’s Former Schemes
In 2006, the Co-op consolidated all of its pension schemes at that time into one arrangement – Pace. Members of Pace who were members of one of these former pension schemes may have separate benefits in addition to those that they have built up in Pace since 2006. Separate information has been provided to Former Scheme members with details of how their Former Scheme benefits are treated.
The Schemes which closed in 2012
The following other Co-op Schemes closed in 2012. If you were a member of one of these Schemes you will find the following pages and the documents & factsheets they contain helpful.
Members of these schemes were invited to join to Pace in October 2012 (Somerfield members were invited to join Pace in November 2012). If you had benefits in one of these schemes, you will have received separate communications confirming what has happened to your benefits.
Recently, the following transfers have taken place:
- The DC Sections of the Somerfield, Britannia and Plymouth Pension Schemes were transferred into Pace DC.
- The Sheffield, Leeds, Lothian and Brixham pension schemes transferred into Pace Complete in April 2015.
