Pace is one of the largest occupational pension schemes in the UK and is complex to run.
In light of this, the nomination process has been designed to ensure candidates have a detailed understanding of the requirements of being a Trustee Director and to ensure that members with the right skills for the role of a Trustee Director are put through to the Ballot stage, by using a selection process.
Nomination Process - Summary
The election process is being managed by an independent organisation, Electoral Reform Services (ERS). The nomination pack available from ERS provides full details.
To be nominated for an Employee Member Nominated Trustee vacancy, you must be a contributing member of Pace and you must be supported by two other contributing members of Pace.
All candidates are required to complete the forms contained in the Nomination Pack, including:
- A Nomination form to be completed by you and by two supporters as confirmation that you wish to be considered to for a trustee position.
- A Personal Statement that summarises your employment with the Co-op Group, or the Co-operative Bank, and any other information you consider relevant to your application for a trustee role.
- A Trustee Questionnaire which will be used to determine relevant skills and experience
All nominees must complete the first two modules of The Pensions Regulator’s Trustee toolkit. www.trusteetoolkit.com
Candidates will also be invited to attend a Selection Panel interview with members of the Pensions Department and Pace Trustee Board.
Following the close of the nomination period, the nominations will be validated and if more successful nominations are received than are required, a ballot (election) will be held. The results will be announced later in the year.
